Last year's retrospective

Even if artworks are still on display in museums and white-cube galleries, unconventional spaces are preferred for their opposition to totally neutral conventional spaces. An alternative exhibition space is a space other than a traditional commercial venue used for the public exhibition of artwork. Often comprising a place converted from another use, such as a store front, warehouse, or factory loft, it is then made into a display or performance space for use by an individual or group of artists. According to art advisor Allan Schwartzman, "alternative spaces where the center of American artistic life in the '70s.

Our hair salon/art gallery (@_artist_run) is an alternative space where pop-up events are organized. A pop-up exhibition is a temporary art event, less formal than a gallery or museum but more formal than private artistic showing of work. Pop-up exhibitions usually allow for a more immersive experience for the visitor. Pop-up exhibitions usually allow for a more immersive experience for the visitor. Although the idea originated from New York City, pop-up exhibitions occur all around the world. And, although in our country we were the first to bring this current and the first to implement it, other salons began to appear in horizon, which is entitled to be an art gallery. Some salons have even changed their brand, turning the salon into a gallery concept. It seems like I was a real example.

We are not upset, we are very proud! And we are glad that we started a cultural phenomenon in the salon industry. It is amazing to realize that you have become a role model for others. After so much struggle to change the face of this industry and implement it on the market a rather bizarre and difficult to accept business model, at this moment we feel relieved and extremely satisfied. Today we want to say to you all a big, heartfelt - thank you! Thank you for all of your love and support throughout the years, through the good times and the bad times, the ups and downs! Thank you for being here, a beautiful community and virtual family! Some of you are new around here, others have been here for many years - following and supporting our journey since it all started almost 4 years ago. In this industry, this project needs time and funds to grow up, culture in our country it's very hard to conviced the people to buy art and suport the artists and galleries.

Our project want's to bring art close to the people with a pop up shows. In order for this to be possible, we had vernnisages in the “artist-run”gallery section of this project inside the Contemporan Hair Space, but also and “Garaj – Artist-Run Gallery inside. And you love it! And Now, after the pandemic period we contacted Raluca Ilaria Demetrescu, who is a curator, visual artist, story-teller, coordinator Alert Studio Artist-Run Space and we asked her to collaborate with us for a series of events that focus on the hair and the human body. She graduate of UNArte Bucharest, painting and Sorbonne Paris Arts Plastiques. The series of events started with the artist - Daiana Savopol and during this time we hosted a Contemporan Event powered by @ralucailariademetrescu_curator at @contemporan_hairspace and at the same time at @alert_studio and @galerianeagra. This is definitely not a salon for the shy. In this gallery-style setting, clients and stylists are all part of the performance when visitors wander in. It's always awe inspiring to see the power of bringing together creativity in its many forms: Daiana Savopol, Mimi Ciora, Sergiu Chihaia, Dimitrie Luca Gora, Liana Herea, Cristina Ionita, Norica Ioana Popescu, Alexandru Stefan Raduta, Catalin Visoiu, Andreias Welther, Liliana Basarab, Adrian Ghiman, Adrian Bîndiu, Alexandru Claudiu Maxim, Adrian Buga, Alexandra Tudosia, Alexandru Munteanu, Alexandru Rangă, Alexandru Ștefan Răduță, Anca Boeriu, Andreas Whelter, Andu Dumitrescu, Bix, Bogdan Craiu (Bobo), Bogdan Pelmus, Buzu, Cătălin Visoiu, Chan Daryl, Cristina Ioniță, Daiana Savopol, Denis Nanciu, Denisia Călin, Eduard Balaș, Emanuel Borcescu, Eugen Alupopanu, Felix Aftene, Irina Maria Iliescu, IRLO, Iulia Jugaru, Liliana Basarab, Livia Penda, Lucian Mitruțescu, Lumi Mihai, Maria Pop Timaru, Maria-Livia Onete, Marian Codrea, Mihai Zgondoiu, Norica-Ioana Popescu, Olimpia Magheru, Otilia Boeru, Paul Baraka Marat, Radu Carnariu, Radu Panait, Raluca Ilaria Demetrescu, Răzvan Botis, Reka Csapo Dup, Robert Obert, Sergiu Chihaia, Sorin Dan Cojocaru, Schoppel Cut, Teodora Gavrilă, Useless Tattoo.
